Whenever the average religious Nigerian hears the word "DEMON" his mind goes straight to heavy supernatural negative powers of darkness. But the truth is
that "Demon" in reality represents anything that torments or keeps you in bondage. And if you are still a tenant and you don't have your own land or house yet, you are in BONDAGE. simple!
Why? Because a tenant is always a servant to the landlord or Landlady. So from today, I begin a series on the things that INHIBIT you from taking that BOLD STEP of becoming a LANDLORD. Mind you, your landlord does not have two heads.
NO.1: THE URBAN OR CITY-MENTALITY
This might not look like a demon, but it is. What do I mean by the URBAN or CITY MENTALITY? This is the deception that comes from looking at the well-developed areas of a state (or the area you are living and paying rent right now) and with that mindset you feel, nothing can be done again. In fact all these people who own a house in these areas are just lucky. Then you forget that most of them bought a land on that area when it was almost a NO MAN'S LAND.
How to conquer this demon: Start looking for the NEXT BIG THING. Were is the city expanding to? What are the indicators I can notice around which points to the fact that this place could be the next big thing? Start planning and taking steps.
